Calvert County Maryland has a GMRS Repeater
Visit KAF9830.COM and find out more. I am hoping that CERT and families that need or want two-way radio communication will learn about the real General Mobile Radio Service and try GMRS. GMRS has real utility in a marine community. Families cannot legally talk to a family station on shore using marine VHF but they CAN do so using GMRS. The blog at PopularWireless.com has more information. Contact me if you have any questions.

The repeater was removed from the location in Sunderland. It was not being used and the antenna was needed by the Amateur Service. Both KAF9830 repeaters are now located at Plum Point, MD serving the Chesapeake Bay communities and boaters that would like to use GMRS.
Contact me directly if you have an interest in using these repeaters or using one in your community for CERT or personal communication.
The Ships in the Chesapeake Bay page is empty? There are no red pin points depicting ships. Is it a seasonal post?
