Spam Bot at SVSERVERS.COM

Author: A spam bot identifying as being at svservers.com has been harassing this blog for days now. The bot continues to try and hit the same post from many different IP addresses. AKISMET kills every attempt and I go through periodically and block the IPs. I see that many other blogs have been hit by the same bot.
Where is it and who owns it and how can the world get these creeps shut down?

Hundreds of attempts per hour. Still an issue at 1000 hrs 031109. The following IP ranges were blocked:

They’ve been hitting me too for about three days. Askimet is catching everything but its pissing me off because its trashed all of my visitor and referral stats.
I can’t believe the powers that be continue to allow an Internet neighbor like this to behave so badly. Over 1000 attempts here so far. Hundreds from specific IP addresses. The bot picked out one particular article and continues to attempt comment spam without success. Akismet and the IP blocker stop the traffic but as you said blog visits are all skewed. Rouge sites like this don’t pay for the bandwidth – we do. I think their antics amount to theft.

This is my current ban list most of which is svservers.com. Thrown in are a few nuisances and a few hackers attempting SQL injection attacks.
Th wildcard function wasn’t working for me so I list every IP I notice.
