The 8 Faux Republicans Who Just Taxed Your Life Away…
This blog gives you the names and states of Washington’s so-called Republican lawmakers that voted for Cap and Trade. When you begin to see your BGE bill almost double again as this program takes hold remember the people and states that promoted Cap and Trade.
Click here to meet the 8 Faux Republicans Who Just Taxed Your Life Away…
Is it time to start asking ourselves hard questions? People put these politicians in power. These politicians are voting for sweeping far-left ideological changes in our country that make no sense from a 9-12 perspective. We don’t have to vacation in these states, start a business in these states, consider relocating to these states do we? It may be time to avoid having anything to do with the districts and states these law makers represent. What else can we do if the people that should know better abandon us.
Sadly this list would also include a majority of the State of Maryland. Our law makers voted their far-left socialist ideology and not the will of the people. Cap and Trade is not compliant with the 9-12 principals and values. Not even some of the large environmental groups supported it.
The poor and middle class are the hardest hit in this scheme. This includes the low-income retired, elderly, disabled, minorities, and immigrants all trying to keep ahead of new taxes. They are already taxed to death from their paycheck and in property taxes if they own homes. In Maryland, sales taxes went up as has spending under Governor O’Malley DESPITE millions in stimulus money. Everyone will have far less to spend on essentials like prescription medicines once power bills go up. We are spending to support the politicians view of Utopia – their Animal Farm. The taxes we were told we would not pay if we elected the far left are being paid – just through socialized programs like health care and cap and trade.
I believe we were not told the truth about the impact of cap and trade. (The same is true in the on-going health care debate.) Now all Americans will discover what that impact is and every law maker’s district that supported this madness should look to themselves when they begin whining about increased personal energy expenses. The rest of us may privately consider whether or not we want to have anything to do with the far-left areas of the country that put these politicians in power. Those voters believe they can invent socialist programs for everyone else and ram them swiftly through Congress. The rest of us can make personal decisions about how we spend what money we have left.
This link gives you the FULL ROLL CALL VOTE for the American Clean Energy and Security Act
also known as Cap and Trade.

Ron Miller Signs 9-12 Values and Principles Pledge
My favorite candidate for Maryland State Senate, District 27, Prince Georges and Calvert County signed the 9-12 pledge last evening, June 7, 2009. Ron Miller made the announcement on his Twitter feed http://www.twitter.com/teamronmiller
Now I knew having met Ron and after having seen him in action at the Solomons Tea Party that he was the right Miller for me in 2010. I was very glad to see Ron take the time to make a formal pledge. A conservative, a family man, and now a candidate that recognizes the beliefs, values and principles of many potential voters, Ron is ready to serve and govern for the people.
Ron’s announcement read, “I signed the 9/12 Candidate Pledge committing myself to upholding its nine principles and twelve values http://is.gd/SvGQ #TCOT #MDReps.”
Maryland needs new 9-12 candidates to run for public office. I’m solidly behind Ron Miller as the best possible candidate to defeat the Democrat incumbent. Join me in supporting Ron in 2010.

Chrysler is mailing out $1000 loyalty coupons to Jeep owners apparently as an incentive to purchase a new car. It hit me after I read the letter. Do I really want to buy a new car now from Government Motors or Congressional Motors – whatever we call the company now.
I have always loved my Jeep, but the company that makes them is different now. It isn’t the same. Billions of tax-payer monies are now tied up with GM. The $1000 discount isn’t free and then there are all of the family dealerships that were forced to close under the new Government Motors management.
This may be one of those offers I pass up. I’d almost rather buy a used or new pre-2009 model from a dealer forced to close before throwing anymore hard earned cash at a new company selling what appears to be the same models. That $1000 isn’t really theirs to give away anyway. At least it shouldn’t be.
Would you buy a new Government Motors vehicle? How do you feel about the incentive?

Fans of Glenn Beck know that he asked us all to consider 9 principles and 12 values when looking at the effectiveness of our political system. When the principles and values didn’t appear to be part of decisions then it is up to us to call attention to the situation.
Calvert had a Tea Party event in March and there was a follow-up Tea Party in Annapolis but what are we doing now to maintain momentum for the 2010 elections? Who are the candidates we want to replace and who are the candidates we want to elect? Seems to me, given the socialist agenda of the current federal administration that we need to prepare for the next election cycle – and do it now.
In the absence of any organized local 9-12 meetings I’m doing my part by offering my support to an outstanding conservative candidate for Maryland state senate in District 27. That is Ron Miller. Ron’s a family man of extraordinary good sense who I believe keeps my principles and values in mind because he shares them.
What about the rest of us? What are you doing to prepare yourself for change we can believe in? Where are the rest of the Calvert and Prince George’s County blogs sharing The 9-12 Project?
Things we can do to increase awareness are:
1. Meet to talk about it.Meet with neighbors, talk over the fence or get a group together.
2. Fly a Gadsden flag to symbolize your frustration.
3. Support a 9-12 candidate even if it only means a dollar contribution.
4. Tell a friend about the 9-12 project and watch Glenn Beck on the Fox News channel.
5. Support 9-12 events in our immediate area.
Southern Maryland is rather quiet politically. People seem to wait until the last minute before expressing an opinion or offering support. I don’t believe we have the luxury of doing that now. Let’s chat it up about the 2010 elections. The DougWeb bulletin board is available for the like-minded and the curious to chat on the topic. You can also reply to the blog post.
Ron Miller: Party Hoppers
(Red County) by Ron Miller 5/26/09 “When U.S. Senator Arlen Specter switched to the Democratic Party earlier this spring, it sent shock waves through the political establishment. The GOP’s ability to influence the debate in the Senate was suddenly in jeopardy, and his defection touched off an argument that continues to rage about the role of moderates in the present and future Republican Party”

(Examiner.com via DIGG) J.D. Tuccille writes at Exaiminer.com The exodus of the well-heeled is a reminder that when governments make life less pleasant, people are prone to vote against such treatment with their feet. But it’s not just economics; Marylanders have plenty of reason to flee based on personal freedom issues, too.”
Taxes are exorbitant in Maryland thanks to the law-makers in Annapolis that claim to represent us. J.D.’s article is an eye opener that I suggest every Maryland resident read. Our local and state representatives NEVER consider the total tax burden. They look only at the share they raise and control. The total burden on the elderly, or the poor make no difference. Spending in Annapolis is out of control. The state’s budget is still over the top because spending was not curtailed even when stimulus funds were received. There is going to be an exodus of baby-boomers from this state soon. Along with the well-to-do Maryland will continue to lose freedoms and lower income people as long as the tax and spend mentality of the current legislature is left uncontrolled.
Thanks J.D. for your insights.

(ohmygov.com via DIGG) Ohmygov writes that Maryland “strengthened the goals of the “stimulus package” by passing legislation that requires insurers to provide monetary incentives for physicians to adopt electronic health records.
I am skeptical. My physician’s income dropped some 20% this last year because of the insurance companies. These companies dictate how much they intend to pay for physician services regardless of the true cost. Physicians respond by doing the will of the insurance company and running more patients through a work day. Ultimately no one is served. Doctors and patients went to Annapolis in March to protest insurance company policies that cut so deeply into physician incomes and that are causing physician flight from Maryland. Not a single member of the news media showed up to cover it and the event went largely unnoticed.
So now we are expected to believe that adding another layer of IT complexity to a small local doctor’s practice is going to benefit him and his patients. I’m sorry, I am very skeptical.

Reflections: Maryland’s War Against Prayer
(Reflections Blog) In 2010 many folks, including me, hope to see Ron Miller replace Mike Miller in the Maryland State Senate. Ron is an exceptional human being, husband, father, veteran, and member of the Southern Maryland community. Ron shares my concern that government works hard to play down our Judeo-Christian history, values, and faith. In his latest blog article, Ron shares his view on Maryland’s War Against Prayer:
“An engineer friend of mine had a saying that “one point in time does not a trend make.” When it comes to one issue in the state of Maryland, however, I believe we have enough events, all within the span of a few weeks, to declare a trend; the act of prayer is officially under siege in Maryland.”

Most blog owners routinely examine server logs, or other logs for information about spammers. Spammers use up resources and bandwidth. The blog owner pays for the resources and bandwidth so that legitimate readers and index bots may enjoy the blog content. At DougWeb and PopularWireless I review logs and block IP addresses using up bandwidth during spam attempts.
There is a new kind of bot. It is not a spammer though Wassup and Akismet mark it as a spammer. It is not a search engine scanner like Google. This new bot examines a blog’s content focusing apparently on political posts and the pages that identify the blogger. The content is analyzed for clients private or government. The bot belongs to an Illinois company, River Glass, Inc. A log sample:

In reviewing my logs the other day I noticed hits from a bot located at rg34.riverglassinc.com (above) so I went to their site and read up on the company. When I found this paragraph a cold chill ran up my spine.
“Governmental agencies and businesses face three major challenges in acquiring information: extensive, irrelevant information in search results; impossibility of knowing the best places to look for information; and an infinite need for new information and insights. RiverGlass technology continuously scours the Internet or enterprise intranet to discover new information relevant to your needs:
# Locating text-based content relevant to your interest and business context
# Identifying key entities (such as people, places and events) within found content
# Understanding the relationship among those entities as it relates to topics of interest
# Connecting relationships within the data through powerful visualizations and analytical summaries “
On their Government and Intelligence page it says:
“RiverGlass assists the public law enforcement and intelligence sectors by applying our sophisticated machine-learning techniques for culling data from within different legal entities, analyzing disparate data, and addressing the information problems facing intelligence analysts today.”
Now having worked in law enforcement in the past I might have just blown off a site like this; however, the recent flap in the news media about right-wing extremists triggered my otherwise dormant conspiracy theory brain cells.
Who is watching a relatively insignificant Republican blogger primarily focused on local and state politics and topics of personal interest? Moreover, who is worried about what I have to say and why? This company has apparently found my blog because of content it wants to retrieve, analyze, and send to a client. Who is the client?
My logs indicated the bot was primarily interested in articles that I share with readers about politics. The bot also searched WordPress tags like DHS. It really liked my favorite Maryland State candidate’s articles that I quote and refer others to. This is creepy.
I have always considered myself a patriot and a Christian that cares about my community and the people in it. Why I would leave anyone with the impression that I had to be monitored by intelligence analysts puts a cold chill on blogging. It makes me wonder if my blogging is having an effect on my job search? Lately I get to the interview process but never again hear from the potential employer. Aside from making a very bad career choice once in my life I have all the skills and experience to make a superb choice as a new employee. No, this is just paranoia. This couldn’t happen in the United States could it?
Just for grins I encourage bloggers to look through their server logs, Wassup logs, or other detailed reports and look for this bot. Is the bot looking at left-wing sites, right-wing sites, entertainment sites? Share what you find. A major media news crew might find this an interesting story.
In the meantime, the bot from this company is now seeing an Error 403 page at my site. The analysts can visit my site from Google like everyone else does and any Analyst concerned about me or my content is welcome to call me on the telephone. I may be at a Tea Party, helping my candidate friend get elected, blogging about a hobby or volunteer interest, volunteering at a homeless shelter, going to church, or looking for work.
