Cable Anchors Use Tea Parties as Excuse for Frat House Humor
(FoxNews via Drudge) For thousands of Americans, Tax Day was a moment to protest what they see as bloated budgets and a pile of debt being passed on to their children. For CNN, MSNBC and other media outlets, it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to use the word “teaxxxxing” in a sentence.

By Edwin Mora
(CNSNews.com) - Georgetown University says it covered over the monogram “IHS”–symbolizing the name of Jesus Christ—because it was inscribed on a pediment on the stage where President Obama spoke at the university on Tuesday and the White House had asked Georgetown to cover up all signs and symbols there.

A document issued by the Maryland National Guard on April 9 warns full-time Guard personnel to be aware of threats from local citizens protesting income taxes during grass roots events known as TEA (Taxed Enough Already) Parties. These possible threats may hurt someone’s feelings and that’s what’s really important after all, isn’t it? You betcha’.

Reflections: What a party!
Maryland State Senate candidate Ron Miller spoke at yesterday’s Annapolis Tea Party. Ron fills us in on his impressions of the people and the event on his blog. The grass roots events thought enough of Ron to ask him to speak. I think that was a compliment since at many tea parties across the nations the people’s frustration with politicians kept politicians off the stage. Politicians were not asked to speak at many events.

(Newsbusters via Drudge) How could anyone be “Unaware” with such a great media to inform them? One would think that a president would find it expedient to check the pulse of his political advisories before declaring them dead or in complete agreement with his policies. Maryland Legislature Raids Voluntary Governor Campaign Funds

Obama drones will see nothing wrong with his administration using fascist tactics against those who oppose him. But, this is downright un-American, not to mention dangerous — oh, and predictable. Michelle Malkin’s Blog
[Ed Note: If I disagree with the economic policies and taxation policies of an administration does that make me a terrorist? Am I to be watched and perhaps lose my ability to work or associate with others if I am a Republican and not a Democrat? I hope not. I have always been an ardent supporter of the Department of Homeland Security (still am) but this study with its lack of detail defies common sense and good judgment. I know lots of folks that disagree with unrestrained spending policy and high taxation but none of them are terrorists. They are Americans that are afraid of the direction their country is moving in. Our confidence level in this direction is very low. We love our country but we are afraid of the actions of politicians in power. We are not extremists nor are we dangerous. Why then do all of us seem be characterized as morons and idiots, and haters? I hope our President comments on this study to mitigate our fear.]

Constitutional Outrage – Ginsburg and Influence of Foreign Law
(Thank you Drudge) This is the United States of America, but you would not know it reading this New York Times article where Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg discusses the high points of referencing foreign law in Supreme Court decisions. This is proof judges are want-a-be legislators picking and choosing their case law justifications from wherever and whatever suits them. A jurist with this philosophy on the Supreme Court bench is an absolute outrage. Read on:
Ginsburg Shares Views on Influence of Foreign Law on Her Court, and Vice Versa
By ADAM LIPTAK Published: April 11, 2009
(New York Times) COLUMBUS, Ohio — In wide-ranging remarks here, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg defended the use of foreign law by American judges, suggested that torture should not be used even when it might yield important information and reflected on her role as the Supreme Court’s only female justice. The occasion was a symposium at the Moritz College of Law at Ohio State University honoring her 15 years on the court.

Ron Miller, candidate for Maryland State Senate opposing Mike Miller (D) for District 27 in Calvert and Prince Georges County understands clearly that Annapolis law makers are unrestrained:
“Then we hear this week that despite the severe budget shortfalls at the state level which were only partially ameliorated by federal “stimulus” funds, O’Malley STILL KEEPS SPENDING to the tune of $1.5 billion in proposed increases to the 2010 budget.
Is it possible for an entire government to have a spending addiction? If addiction is characterized by loss of control, preoccupation, compulsivity, narrowing of interests, dishonesty, guilt and chronic relapse, then Annapolis (and Washington, for that matter) needs to go on the couch.”
This new post at Ron’s blog Reflections really gets one thinking about our current governor and about those that claim to represent us.
