Board Member Said to Have A Conflict in Redistricting
(Washington Post) A small group of Calvert County parents has filed an ethics complaint against Board of Education member Robert L. Gray, alleging he had a conflict of interest when he advocated and voted for the latest elementary school boundary redistricting plan.
Gray (Huntingtown) was president of the board at the time. He rejects the assertion that his work as a real estate lawyer raised any conflict of interest in connection with the March vote on new attendance boundaries.

Local Hams Assist the Red Cross and Skywarn
(Charles County, MD) – Local Hams in Charles, St. Mary’s and Calvert County Maryland assisted the local Red Cross chapter in its mission the night of the recent thunderstorms. Using the tri-county interconnected amateur radio VHF repeater system local Hams provided essential communication for the Red Cross. At the same time volunteer Ham weather watchers part of the Sky Warn Network kept a watch on local weather conditions reporting their observations to the National Weather Service.
Amateur Radio enthusiasts actively participate with the local Red Cross to support that organization’s important mission. Behind the scenes lots of your neighbors who are radio Hams made a difference the night of the storms.

Once again local radio personalities, T-Bone and Heather of WSMD 98.3 Star FM went on the air to make sure the community received important emergency information when three thunderstorms and reported tornado activity wreaked havoc in Southern Maryland two days ago.
I sure do appreciate these two folks. We hunkered down in our Huntingtown, MD basement tuned to 98.3 the night of storm.
