Reflections: The Liberal Assault on Vouchers
Reflections Blog – Mike Miller, Huntingtown, MD (Excerpt) “Never in my comments did I advocate a select few children being rewarded at the expense of others. In fact, I believe I stated the proper response is to expand choice, not limit it. I want every child to have an opportunity. I also want every child to have an opportunity now, not when the public school system gets its act together.
I live in Calvert County where the schools are generally excellent, and Maryland as a state gets high ratings for their public schools. I won’t rest, however, until Prince George’s County and Baltimore City can give their children the best possible education. We should never be satisfied until everyone is lifted up.”

Candidate Ron Miller responded to a liberal man-of-the-cloth’s personal attack in this post at his Reflections Blog regarding the effectiveness of voucher schools and the education establishment. Ron’s writing on this issue is what I personally expect from a clear-thinking politician interested in the welfare of all children in the state. Marylanders are taxed HEAVILY for education. Over HALF of my VERY HIGH property taxes go to our public schools and the schools, unsatiated, keep coming back for more. Revealed in this post are hitherto unknown statistics, to me anyway, citing the ratio of non-teaching staff to teaching staff in Maryland public schools. Get to know Ron. Read his opinion and should you decide to lend your support vote for him in lieu of Mike Miller in 2010.
