Reflections: While you were sleeping.

ronlogo (Reflections Blog – Ron Miller)  Ron Miller is running for the Maryland State Senate seat held by Mike Miller in District 27 that covers Calvert and Prince George’s County. Ron is very concerned about Maryland’s fiscal and business health. Read what Ron has to say on the topic at his Reflections Blog. An excerpt:

“You’ve heard it here before but it bears repeating: Maryland has the 4th highest tax burden in the nation, is the 5th least friendly to businesses, and has the 6th highest cost of living. Yet our government in Annapolis has no plan or solutions for our state’s long-term fiscal health. Every year, they spend more money despite the economic climate and hope for a rescue.”

Reflections: Maryland’s War Against Prayer

ronlogo (Reflections Blog) In 2010 many folks, including me, hope to see Ron Miller replace Mike Miller in the Maryland State Senate. Ron is an exceptional human being, husband, father, veteran, and member of the Southern Maryland community. Ron shares my concern that government works hard to play down our Judeo-Christian history, values, and faith. In his latest blog article, Ron shares his view on Maryland’s  War Against Prayer:

“An engineer friend of mine had a saying that “one point in time does not a trend make.” When it comes to one issue in the state of Maryland, however, I believe we have enough events, all within the span of a few weeks, to declare a trend; the act of prayer is officially under siege in Maryland.”

Notes On A Greenip Resignation

(EyeonAnnapolis via DIGG) But wait! Here in the wings is a suitable replacement. Tony McConkey, yes the GOP Delegate recently disbarred for violating a law he voted for (he acted as predator on a foreclosed home and had to give up his law license). (See Annapolis Capital Punishment)

Thanks to the Eye on Annapolis Blog for alerting us to this story. Anne Arundel Republicans need to think very carefully about anyone in the party taking an interest in this Senate seat. Republicans are never going to beat back the socialist agenda accepting corruption in the party. There have been enough bad apples. (Original story from The Capitol.)

RegularFolksUnited.com: Birth of an Extremist

ronlogo

Ron Miller, Candidate for Maryland State Senate running against incumbent Democrat Mike Miller in District 27 (Calvert and Prince Georges Counties writes:

“If you asked my family and friends to describe me, I’m guessing they’d say I’m friendly, good-natured, gentle, gullible, a straight arrow, someone who follows the rules. I’m a 2nd generation veteran; between my father and me, we’ve given our country nearly 32 years of service. I always preferred mediation to confrontation. Little did I know the events of the past year would turn me of all people into an impassioned extremist and a potential enemy of the state.”

Reflections: Can a state be committed?

ronlogo

Ron Miller, candidate for Maryland State Senate opposing Mike Miller (D) for District 27 in Calvert and Prince Georges County understands clearly that Annapolis law makers are unrestrained:

“Then we hear this week that despite the severe budget shortfalls at the state level which were only partially ameliorated by federal “stimulus” funds, O’Malley STILL KEEPS SPENDING to the tune of $1.5 billion in proposed increases to the 2010 budget.

Is it possible for an entire government to have a spending addiction? If addiction is characterized by loss of control, preoccupation, compulsivity, narrowing of interests, dishonesty, guilt and chronic relapse, then Annapolis (and Washington, for that matter) needs to go on the couch.”

This new post at Ron’s blog Reflections really gets one thinking about our current governor and about those that claim to represent us.

State Budget Calls for Disenfranchisement of Maryland Taxpayers

Maryland Republican Party
James Pelura, DVM, MS
Chairman

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Justin Ready

April 8, 2009 410-263-2125

State Budget Language Calls for Disenfranchisement of Maryland Taxpayers

The Democrat leadership in the Maryland General Assembly has included language in an amendment attached to the state budget that would allow any additional federal funds received after the Legislative Session is over to be spent by House or Senate Committee Chairs alone with no oversight or debate by the entire legislature.

“This attempt to thwart the democratic process by allowing tax dollars to be spent without the oversight and debate that our representative form of government demands is one of the most underhanded and despicable examples to date of the destructive policies that result from one party rule,” said MDGOP Chairman Jim Pelura

“By using a little noticed addition to the budget, Governor O’Malley, President Miller and Speaker Busch are attempting to do an end-run around the open and fair allocation of taxpayer dollars.”

“This budget should not pass due to the total lack of fiscal responsibility that it represents. This horrendous attempt a back-room politics makes it even worse. I call on all members of the General Assembly, regardless of party affiliation, to reject this outrageous provision,” concluded Pelura.

Ron Miller: No Kool-Aid, Tea Please

Ron Miller is THE republican candidate that will un-seat tax and spend Mike Miller here in Maryland. I had a chance to see and hear Ron at the Solomon’s Tea Party and was IMPRESSED,  In this post at Ron’s website he details the on-going tax and spend antics of Maryland’s Democrats in Annapolis. Take a minute to read this post. Ron is right on the money, pun intended. Ron starts out, ” I participated in my second-ever protest last Sunday when I served as the master of ceremonies for the “Concerned Citizens” Tea Party at Solomons. God gave us a cool, sunny day, great speakers and a crowd Sheriff Evans estimated at between 500-600 people. The homemade signs were excellent and the crowd was anxious to be heard in Annapolis and Washington. The week’s events, however, suggest we’re going to have to turn up the volume because our public “servants” – and I use that term loosely – aren’t listening.”

Solomon’s Island Tea Party Video, Part 2

Part two includes the video of Charles Lollar, Charles County Republican Chair, Charles motivated everyone. A very powerful speech. These are broken up since I had to change batteries mid-movie. The technical aspects are not exactly news quality. The camera was looking into the sun a bit so there are some rainbows appearing due to the light and the lens coatings on the camera. I’m afraid I might have been a bit quick on scene transitions.
